Justice for Cordale Handy
July 2023
Representing Kimberly Handy-Jones, the mother of Cordale Handy, shot by St. Paul Police officers Mikko Norman and Nathaniel Younce in 2017, PJB Law secured a landmark civil trial victory. The federal jury found Officer Younce used excessive force, awarding $10 million in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages.
Justice for Marcus Golden
January 2023
After eight years, PJB Law secured justice for Marcus Golden's family, as the city agreed to settle a federal lawsuit for $1.3 million. Golden, who was black, was shot in the back of the head in his SUV during an encounter with a pair of Saint Paul police officers in January 2015.
Settlement for Travis Jordan's Roomate and Girlfriend
April 2021
PJB Law secured a $15,000 settlement for Paul Johnson and Taren Vang, roomate and girlfriend of Travis Jordan, who were unlawfully detained and searched by Minneapolis Police officers after Jordan was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department.
